Jasper A. Welch, III.

Biography & Experience

Jasper Welch has been a Durango, CO resident since 1976. Since 1991, Mr. Welch has operated a management consulting practice, which specializes in strategic planning, executive coaching, leadership and organizational development. Educated at the University of Colorado [B.S, 1975], Jasper has received additional training and certification in:

  • business planning
  • personnel assessments
  • quality management
  • and interpersonal communications.

Since 1999, Mr. Welch has been the director of the Enterprise Center (business incubator) at San Juan College (SJC) in Farmington, NM. From 2002 to 2005, he served as the interim Director of the SJC Training Center at San Juan College.

Mr. Welch has worked in the private sector in the printing, office supplies, advertising, retail, and management consulting fields. In the non-profit sector, Jasper has served as a Chamber executive and he has served on numerous non-profit Boards and committees. In the area of community service, Jasper has been a Club 20 Board member (1985-2002) and he received the John Vanderhoof public service award for Western Colorado in 2003. Mr. Welch has served as a twice-elected Council member on the Durango City Council from 1991 to 1999 (including two one-year terms as Mayor). Jasper serves as an independent outside director on the Stoneage, Inc, FastTrack Communications, Inc, and the Office Outpost / Peterson’s Office Supply respective Boards of Directors.

In 1991, Jasper began his management-consulting firm, Four Corners Management Services, following the sale of Basin Reproduction & Printing Co. in October 1990. After 7 years as president of the printing company, Mr. Welch sold the company to his key employees. In June 1991, Jasper was certified with Professional Dynametric Programs (PDP), a comprehensive personnel management system. Since that time, Four Corners Management Services has provided management consulting services to:

  • businesses
  • individuals
  • government agencies
  • and non-profit organizations.

In addition, Jasper is a certified Achieve Global trainer and a certified NxLevel entrepreneurial trainer. Other client work has included facilitating strategic plans, assisting in management team development and the development of the Water Information Program in southwest Colorado (1994-1999). In 2006, Jasper became a founding member of Client Focused Solutions, a group of professional services providers that serve businesses and organizations with a variety of management consulting and business services.

As a certified trainer and facilitator, Jasper has delivered training programs in:

As an active Toastmaster and public speaker, he completed his ATM-Bronze in 2003. Mr. Welch is a master coach with Marketing for Smarties a comprehensive 14 step-marketing program for entrepreneurs that was developed by Mr. Don Warner. As a professional facilitator and trainer, Jasper has provided instructional and training services at Ft. Lewis College (Durango, CO), San Juan College (Farmington, NM), US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management (Colorado Springs, CO) and numerous businesses, non-profit organizations, governmental agencies and community programs.
